Most Exotic Tented Hotel
- Type: Tent Retreats
- Setting: Forest, Jungle
Stunning Capella Ubud is a creation of world’s most iconic architect Bill Bensley who took inspiration from the first European settlers arriving in Indonesia in 19th century, as a tribute to the spirit of their adventure. Memorable in so many ways, nestled in the heart of lush green forests of Bali, unique tented camp sits in harmony with the surrounding nature. Constructed within the trees and hidden from afar, it captures the imagination of those who seek a unique experience at the heart of Bali’s untouched natural surroundings. Tented retreat with twenty-two extravagant stylish one-bedroom tents as well as one two-bedroom lodge, feature private saltwater pools, indoor and outdoor bathrooms, and multisensory culinary journeys spread across four restaurants and bars. Each of the tents tells the story of a different character, whether a tradesman, a soldier or visiting Dutch royalty that could have been part of the Dutch assaults on Bali a long, long time ago. Within the camp there is a signature Auriga spa offering adventure wellness programs that tap into the jungle surroundings. The designer loved the idea of using playful brass monkeys because they never fail to make people smile and their statues can be found everywhere.
Capella Ubud, Bali is located in dense rainforest on sloping terrain leading to the sacred Wos River in Keliki Village. Whilst accommodation on flat terrain is available, some of the tents are perched up high and are located on steep terrain. Due to the nature of the camp’s terrain, the camp would not be best suited for families with children below six years old or guests with any mobility challenges.

Where do we start! From the moment we arrived until the time we arrived back from our honeymoon we were looked after to the best of Capella's abilities and had a fabulous experience. All the staff are beyond kind and professional during the entire stay and you also get assigned a personal butler that they call, a culturalist. This person will take care of all your needs and help you plan anything you like in the premises and outside. We had loads of ideas of things to do and Wisnu helped us plan... Where do we start! All the staff are beyond kind and professional during the entire stay and you also get assigned a personal butler that they call, a culturalist. This person will take care of all your needs and help you plan anything you like in the premises and outside. We had loads of ideas of things to do and Wisnu helped us plan and organize what to do during the days of our stay. The tents are something to die for. if you are in for some luxury experience in the middle of the jungle you have found the right place. From the exotic interior designs till the outside showers and private pool overlooking the massive jungle, whilst you sleep you hear the loud sounds of nature which brings a beautiful feeling during the stay. Let me not forget the bedtime ritual of every night a tea and water bowl for your feet is prepared with water and salts with flower for you to drink tea whilst soothing your feet in water to refresh and rest just before you go to bed. The decoration in the tent is amazing and all extremely tidy and really clean. No TV which we loved, everything worked including AC and we were give survivor kits too so enough moskito repelants to keep us sane! We stayed in cartographer's tent by the way - awesome location! I can go on and on here about all the gorgeous setting this place however to us what stood out the most was the staff, everyone was beyond kind, professional and warm to us and took care of us like no other hotel has. So regardless of the amazing experience you will for sure have if you stay in capella, you will meet extraordinary people who are truly truly special, polite, loving and caring for others. We loved capella, we will always say great things about it and I don't think there is anything that needs to improve in this magical place. Rest assured you are in for beyond a treat, you are in for a dream.
