There's not much to say here that hasn't already been said in dozens of previous reviews: the room was terrific, the views were amazing, the entire staff was lovely, and the food was great. The biggest stand-out of all, however, was our guide, Jommy. He was super knowledgeable, determined to show us the most wildlife humanly possible, and (best of all) extremely funny! We absolutely loved all the time we got to spend with him! Two months later, and we're still corresponding with him. You'll be l...

You won’t get over the villas, the view, the staff, the food... all incredible! Italian cuisine of the finest quality, in Kenya! Our villa ,overlooking the most stunning vista, was magical. With baboons and wildlife casually walking by. Our game drives were jaw dropping, could have touched cheetah, elephant were yards away, zebra, gazelle, ostrich and the most glorious giraffe so close I had to lean back to get them in my photo frame!! There cannot be anywhere better than Saruni, our guide had a...

Spectacular lodge, unique location, magnificent views all the way to Mount Kenya, swimming pools, excellent spa, delicious food with an Italian slant, agreeable wine and the friendliest, most obliging staff you could ever wish for to cater for your every need. Kennedy,Benjamin and Peter were just outstanding........they obviously love their work and love this lodge. When we returned to the lodge after an excursion we were greeted by a smiling welcoming committee led by Nicole the Assistant Manager or Johan or Zoe the General Managers who genuinely seemed interested your outing as the staff supplied you with a cold drink and refreshing moist towels. A special mention must go to Simon our first guide who set such a positive first impression for our time at Saruni Samburu during our first game drive after picking us up from the airport. BUT THE TITLE OF BEST GUIDE EVER MUST GO TO JOHN. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and interesting he seemed to know how the animals would think and behave. He would anticipate what they would do, where they would be moving to and position our truck in the most favourable spots to see the animals and photograph their every move. What a gem! We saw so much game in Samburu because of John's ability and his desire for his guests to have the best possible experience each and every time we went on a game drive. He loved being a guide and it showed. Saruni Samburu is a magical place. It doesn't get any better than this. In hindsight our only regret is that we didn't book into Saruni Mara in Masai Mara........that's another story
